Tuesdays, 4-5:30 p.m. @ Kendal Parish Church
Kendal Boys' Choir, for boys aged 6-10, is designed for boys who love to sing. The choir develops their musicianship through singing and musical games. Sessions are free of charge. Just come to Kendal Parish Church at 4 p.m. on any Tuesday. Why join?
It's a chance to have fun and make new friends! It's not just singing: during a mid-session break, the boys will also be able to enjoy the church's Choir Club Room, equipped with a pool table, dart board, computer games and Scalectrixs track. Get involved with exciting trips and events. There have been recent choir tours to London, Cambridge and Switzerland. You will receive musical tuition of the highest standard, estimated to be worth £1,500 per year. FAQ
Who will be supervising the choir? The choir is led by Kendal Parish Church's Children and Families Co-ordinator Co-ordinator, Holly Swinton. A local primary school teacher/tutor and music specialist, she has experience of supervising children of all ages and temperaments. Musical expertise will also be provided by the church's Musical Director, Mark Swinton. Educated at the University of York, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. Do the boys need to attend every week? No. However, in order to make real progress (and be featured in concerts), an ongoing commitment is necessary. |
